Guess who’s back in your muthafuckin’ inbox?

After a loooong hiatus (last legit update was almost 3 years ago 😅), I decided it was about damn time to resurrect this playlist.

Same formula: new songs only, no more than 2 per album and selection covers a pretty wide range of my favorite genres, aka everything from gangsta rap to soulful R&B.

A couple changes, tho: from now on the playlist will be available only on Spotify. Sorry, Deezer and Apple Music users! Also, I’ll try to update it on the regular as much as possible, so make sure you add it to your Spotify library if you want to stay in the loop. I’ll keep sending the newsletter once a month as a friendly reminder too.

Anyway, let’s embrace this fresh start effect and jump right into it:

First cover artist of 2024 is Jimmy Waters. After releasing no less than 10 albums last year, the Riverside, CA rapper/producer got off to a flying start with not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, but 5 (!!!) EP’s in January alone. It might sound a bit redundant, but honestly they’re all super solid if you enjoy laidback “modern G-funk”.

If you’re receiving this in your inbox, it means that at some point in 2019 you subscribed to my newsletter, Kick’s Groove. It was a short-lived yet very cool project. You can still read the archive here.

A world pandemic later, here I come again!

With this 2021 revamped version, things will be super straightforward:
